~ California ~
A couple of weeks ago we were able to go to California for a week. We spent an incredible 3 days in Disneyland, went to Sea World, Coronado Beach, the tide pools at Point Loma, toured the USS Midway and the girls went boating with my parents while Robert & I attended a company convention.
DISNEYLAND
What kind of crazy people stand in line to see Mickey for an hour!? Umm, well....
My cute little girlies at Pixie Hollow
Look! They even match! These two were meant to be friends.
Snow White
Blue! No Pink!
Just chillin at the 3-D muppets show
Fun on the teacups
This was the time we finally got to our car (Utah time) the last night. And this is how many other cars there were in the parking lot when we got there!

Robert was so awesome to stand in the princess line for an hour and a half while I took the girls on rides. He thought they should have given him a shirt that said, "I made it through the princess line."

SEA WORLD
Sea World was really fun! There was so much to see there.
Shamu's show was awesome! Unfortunately, though, this is one of the only pictures I got. Our seats were right down there at the bottom so I decided against having the camera out. And yes, we DID get wet!
I think this was Lindsey's favorite. She was looking forward to seeing the sea turtles for a long time. She has a red-ear slider named Sammy in a 30 gallon tank in her room. He's only about an inch and a half long so Mr Sun & Fun here is massive in comparison.
It was cool to see the beluga whales swim upside down.
Notice the bird? Looks inocent doesn't he? Don't be fooled. He's just waiting to make his move!
THE USS MIDWAY
"The City at Sea"
We took a self-guided tour of the aircraft carrier the USS Midway. It was really awesome but a little difficult to wrap my mind around the idea of people actually living on this thing for months at a time. The thing was massive! There were over 70 points on the tour. It took us 2 hours just to see 12 of them.
It was first commissioned after World War II and in operation during the Vietnam War and Operation Desert Storm.
The flight deck is 4 acres.
The flight deck is 4 acres.
Each washing machine held 198 lbs of laundry.
There are 1500 telephones on board.
It can store 3,200,000 gallons of aviation & ship fuel.
10 tons of food was prepared daily.
Enough electrical power was generated to support a city of 1 million residents.
There were 13,000 meals served daily.
